Recommend? Maybe

…just another #TasteTestTuesday meal where some of my co-workers and I choose a random restaurant near the office to check it out.

Lamb burger was not bad at all… I got it medium done and the middle of the meat was slightly mushy which provided an odd texture for me. I’ve never had a lamb burger before (that I distinctly remember) so I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be. Regardless, it was still delicious, if they meant to make it mushy, and I highly enjoyed having the arugula in the burger. I actually took off the top bun when I ate this and only ate the bottom bun with my meal.

Butter Chicken Poutine: simmered chicken in a curried tomato cream, sauce, cheese curd, cilantro and spiced yogurt

This was delicious but definitely not a “typical” poutine. I feel like the only reason it was even called poutine was because of the fries and the cheese curds (which I barely tasted..) but other than that, it was still really good. Absolutely loved the curried tomato cream and will have it again… I just wish they didn’t play with my emotions and called it poutine since I expected it to taste one thing… and then have it actually taste like something else.

Overall, I liked the look and feel of the restaurant but am not sure if I’d want to return for lunch again. I liked sitting in their outdoor patio (esp with today’s weather being PERFECT) but I don’t really frequent pubs enough for lunch to warrant a second visit during this time of day.

Perhaps we can convince our other co-workers to check this place out during happy hour… maybe it’ll be a better venue for that sort of activity.

…until next time!
